The University of West England Bristol (UWE Bristol) is a public research university located in and around Bristol, England.
One of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations, Bristol was selected in 2009 as one of the world’s top ten cities by international travel publishers, Dorling Kindersley, in their Eyewitness series of travel guides.
The Sunday Times named it as the best city in Britain in which to live in 2014 and 2017, and Bristol also won the EU’s European Green Capital Award in 2015.
UWE Bristol currently has a Gold plating in Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and top 40 in the Guardian League Table 2019. Its focus is to provide an outstanding student experience and to ensure students have access to all the information and learning support they need during their time at UWE Bristol.
UWE can trace its origins to the Merchant Ventures’ Technical College, founded as a school in 1595 by the Society of Merchant Ventures.
